Know your Crowd:
Different crowds require different necessities. For instance, Dancers need a dance floor, low lighting or DJ lights, fans or AC, lots of drinks, not to mention the addition of a live band/ D.J. with a booming sound system is like pouring gas on the party fire! This crowd makes for a great party as long as you can work them on the dance floor without burning them out. They will need throwback tracks, all time favorites and new hits. You can't go wrong with popular group dance hits like cha cha slide, cupid shuffle, etc.
Social Crowds:
This group requires snacks, drinks and some light background music. Don't supply all the snacks and drinks in one area, spread them out or your're sure to get a cluster or pile up leaving the rest of the room empty looking. Good Host skills are a must with this group, the constant hopping from group to group will help the cliques to spread and mingle with new friends. Don't plan these events too late, they are often the starter gathering leading toward other plans.
Drinkers:
This crowd will definitely need a bartender to keep the drinks going and moderate the consumption level of a certain few. A bartender knows to start out strong and finish light. A bartender can also create some entertainment as well with tricks and fireballs where allowed. This group will require seating and some background music that is up beat and just a bit louder than the crowd. As the night goes on louder music and less seating will be needed as the party goers get to some serious dancing! Please have a designated driver setup just in case!
Kids:
In any event unless otherwise stated you may very well have some children or young adults attend. Be prepared for this as it will enhance your guest's satisfaction. I recommend an event "Nanny" or mabe a magician or professional child care to keep them entertained. You may even go as far as setting up a game console and T.V. for them.
*This is purely in my own opinion based on my experiences and do not include all groups or circumstances*
